Worldwide semiconductor capital spending declined 2.2% in 2005 but is showing a strong increase in 2006 with an estimated 15.1% growth. Spending is forecast to reach $54.5 bln, with Intel and Samsung continuing to lead in the volume of spending, Gartner says.
