Worldwide PC shipments jumped to 16.6% growth in Q2 2005, according to IDC. Low-cost systems and portable adoption continue to be key market drivers, stimulating consumer adoption as well as commercial replacements. Worldwide growth was up more than 4% from May 2005 forecasts of 12.3%, while growth of 11.7% in the United States was in line with forecasts of 11.6%.
