September 2006 video game sales jumped by 38% compared to September 2005, according to NPD Group. The industry is up 11% and there are no signs of slowing down. Total video game sales were $777 mln for the month, up from $563 mln in September 2005. Hardware sales rose 71% to $244 mln. Software sales climbed 29% to $446 mln from $347 mln in the year-ago period, and sales of accessories jumped 21% to $88 mln from $73 mln.
