Venture investment rose 32% in Q1 2006, with VC financing reaching its highest level in 5 years. Investors backed more than 610 companies in Q1 2006 with some $6.5 bln in capital, nearly a third more money than the $4.9 bln they put to work in Q1 2005, Red Herring reports.
