70% of US wireless phone subscribers are aware of the Federal Communication Commission?s November wireless number portability mandate. Ipsos surveyed a random sample of 1,029 US adults in the beginning of November and found that 623 were wireless subscribers. Ipsos asked the people who say they are likely to switch providers within the next year whether they will keep their number and 89% say ?yes? as long as there is no additional fee for making the change. The percentage who say they will keep their number falls dramatically to 58% when the possibility of a $25.00 fee is presented as a possibility to respondents.
