UK Internet ad spending up 41.3% in the first half of 2007

Internet Advertising Bureau reported that Internet marketing had grown 41.3% in the first half of 2007 to take a 14.7% share of the total UK ad market. Online ads were valued at 1.3 bln pounds ($2.7 bln), compared to 900 mln pounds in the first half of 2006. US advertising market grew by 3.1% during the first half of 2007 to 9.1 bln pounds. Without Internet ads, UK media expenditure would have fallen by 1.9%. Online classified ads grew 72% YTY as marketing budgets steadily switch from print to online. Online display advertising grew 33%.
