Yahoo! News was the top news site on the Web for the last eight months. It commanded 25.7 mln unique visitors in April 2006, up 10% from in 2004, followed by CNN at 23.7 mln visitors and MSNBC at 23.2 mln, according to Nielsen//NetRatings. Google News was #11 news site, with 9.7 mln unique visitors, up 19% from in 2004. Knight Ridder Digital saw its audience base grow 13% to 10.6 mln unique visitors while Associated Press grew 1% to 6.1 mln unique visitors. Topix.net ranked 29th at 2.7 mln visitors.
