Top Exchange problems for sysadmins: Outlook client and SMTP

Zenprise recently conducted a survey with Osterman Research. The survey outlined the top Exchange performance and availability issues faced by administrators. Outlook client topped the list of components that were problematic or very problematic (either a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1-5). The biggest problems included:

  1. Outlook client: 36%
  2. Windows OS: 35%
  3. OWA: 31%

Survey respondents claimed SMPT as the component that was most problematic on the survey (either a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1-5).

  1. SMTP: 44%
  2. Information Store: 38%
  3. POP3: 25%
