Mergers-and-acquisitions activity in the global technology sector already has eclipsed the total deal value for all of 2005 by $20 bln, according to an Innovation Advisors. Technology M&A dollars reached $186.3 bln through three quarters, surpassing the 2005 total of $164.6 bln. With a projected $248.4 bln total investment in close to 4,000 technology deals, 2006 would be the most active year for technology M&A activity since 2000. The total percentage of US-based companies participating in M&A activity continues to decline to 53.9% year-to-date from 57.9% in 2005.
