Semiconductors and electronic components manufacturing generates $150 bln in the US

The manufacturing of semiconductors and electronic components in the US generates about $150 bln in sales annually, from just over 1,000 companies that manufacture semiconductors and other solid-state devices, and 5,000 companies that manufacture other electronic components. While the semiconductor segment is dominated by large companies such as Intel, Texas Instruments, Micron, and AMD, the typical electronic components company is small, with annual sales less than $50 mln, according to Research and Markets.
