Prepaid Internet revenues to double next year

The business, just $30 million last year, is expected to almost double by 2004, says researcher In-Stat/MDR. It is being pushed by big players such as AOL, AT&T and Sprint and smaller companies such as Budget Dialup and MaGlobe. This summer, Wal-Mart started selling prepaid cards from AOL. Almost 20% of 654 businesses recently surveyed by In-Stat said they were likely to purchase prepaid in the next year.
