Only 38% of organizations run scans to detect rogue WLANs

63% of respondents to Deloitte & Touche 2005 Global Security Survey believe that security threats to their organisations are becoming increasingly sophisticated. This is aided and abetted by a severe lack of employee awareness and training, with 48% of respondents stating that this is a weakness in their organisation. Commonly listed threats included: poor screening of new employees; lackadaisical subcontractor controls; security-ignorant employees and deficient management processes. 33% of respondents have done nothing to protect themselves from internal wireless communication exposures. Only 38% run scans to identify rogue wireless networks. Only 65% of organisations have trained employees on how to identify and report suspicious activity.
