Local advertising generated $670 mln in 2004

Kelsey Group estimates that total sales of local digital advertising in 2004 were $670 mln, with only $162 mln coming from targeted search engine ads, $478 mln from interactive yellow pages and $30 mln from wireless campaigns. By 2009, the total is projected to rise to $5 bln, with $3.4 bln sold by search engines, $1.3 bln from Internet yellow pages, and another $338 mln from wireless carriers.
