IDC cuts 2006 US PC sales forecast by 2%

IDC cut its forecast for 2006 US personal computer sales by 2%, citing Microsoft’s delayed consumer launch of its Vista. IDC said it expected computer makers to sell 68.2 mln PCs in the United States 2005. In a November industry survey, IDC forecast 2005’s PC shipments at about 69.5 mln units, compared with 63.9 mln in 2005.
