Grocers continue to increase capital spending and invest in refreshing IT systems to the tune of $9.8 bln in 2006, according to IHL Consulting Group. Key areas of software spend include store systems (21%), infrastructure (32%), and supply chain management systems (18%). 54% are planning new workforce management solutions in the 2007 and over 60% are planning new kiosk implementations at the store level by June 2007.
