Excess semiconductor stockpiles reached $22 bln in Q2 2006

Excess semiconductor stockpiles in the global electronics supply chain rose to $2 bln in Q2 2006, up 77.6% from $1.1 bln in Q1 2006. iSuppli had predicted a more moderate rise to $1.3 bln. At $2 bln, excess stockpiles are at their highest level since they swelled to $1.6 bln in Q3 2004.
