Digital camera unit sales will grow from 85 mln in 2005 to an estimated 107 mln in 2009, but the industry’s dollar volume will decline from $18.3 bln to $16.4 bln in the same time frame, Gartner says. Camera phones, meanwhile, are expected to be included in 282 mln phones in 2005, or 43% of all cell phones worldwide. By 2009, 583 mln units of camera phones are expected to sell and cameras will be in 68% of all cell phones, according to Wireless Device Strategies.
