The New York Times posts Analysys data on Chinese search engine market. As far as search engine market share, in 2004 Baidu led the market with 45%, followed by Google with 30% and Yahoo! with 9%. In 2005 Baidu led with 57% share, followed by Google with 33% and Yahoo! with 5%. As far as pay-per-click search engine revenues, in 2004 Baidu owned 37% of all revenues, followed by Google with 23% and Yahoo! with 21%. In 2005 Baidu surged ahead with 50% of the revenues, followed by Google and Yahoo! with 16% both.
