Belarus PC market to grow 15% a year

IDC says the Belarus PC market is solidly in place and should rise at CAGR of 15% through 2008. While desktops will continue to dominate the market, shipments of portables will leap by more than 37% annually. Desktops dominated the Belarus PC market in 2003, accounting for nearly 95% of shipment volume and over 85% of value. ALocal manufacturers captured about 97% of the desktop market in 2003, with the national vendors like Link Technologies, CD-life, and NTT in top positions. By contrast, nearly 100% of portables came from international vendors in 2003, with Toshiba, Asus, and HP all making strong showings, as reported by Tekrati.
