72% of PC desktop shoppers and 73% of notebook shoppers buy accessories on the same visit

Approximately 50% of the consumers surveyed about their desktop or notebook purchases reported buying additional items at the same time. Hardware accessories were the largest add-on, with 72% of desktop users and 73% of notebook users adding them to their shopping carts. According to NPD Group, 33% of desktop consumers and 36% of notebook consumers who made additional purchases spent their money on services such as extended warranties. On average, desktop consumers spent $130 and notebook users spent $195 on additional services at the point of purchase.
