With the growing number of cable operators assaulting telecom business with the introduction of VOIP, telecommunication companies are increasingly adopting Internet Protocol TV to entice customers into purchasing bundled broadband offerings. The number of IPTV subscribers in Europe is currently below 1 mln with Italy leading the world with 110.1 K subscribers. However, by 2008 Screen Digest estimates that as many as 4.4 mln Europeans will subscribe to IPTV.
