38% of Americans intend to hit the road for the Labor Day weekend. Among those traveling for the holiday, 62% plan to travel by car and 34% intend to fly. 29% of travelers said that the rising cost of fuel is affecting their Labor Day plans. More than half of those taking trips (52%) will stay at a hotel or bed and breakfast, while 24% plan to stay with family or friends, TripAdvisor reports.
