Internet telephony is giving traditional phone service a run for its money, and is expected to be used by 32.6 mln US households in 2010, eMarketer says. 40% of US households with a high-speed Internet connection will be using VoIP by 2010. VoIP calling services average $20-40 a month, while the average residential phone bill in the US is $51. Landline suscribers are already falling; in 2005, 194.5 mln people suscribed to mobile phones, while just 172.1 mln signed up for landlines.
