Nielsen/NetRatings took the list of top 10 e-commerce sites and compiled the list of top-selling product categories. Ebay’s top selling product category was Toys, Games & Hobbies, the company’s original product offering. But this category only accounted for 29% of its customers’ purchases. Amazon continued to rely heavily on book sales, which constituted 57% of purchases on that site. Barnesandnoble.com was more book-focused, with 90% of its purchases in this category.
