22.1% of self-employed Europeans did at least some telework at home, compared to 6.5% of people with an employment contract. For mobile teleworkers, the figures were much closer, 6.4% of self-employed people doing at least some mobile telework, versus 4.4% of employed workers. Point Topic found that around 3.8 mln people in the UK were using the Internet to work from home. Of these, 1.9 mln were freelancers, 0.3 mln were home SMEs and 1.6 mln were teleworkers, that is employees of companies using the Internet to work from home for at least part of their working week.
