1.5 mln portable navigation devices (PNDs) shipped in the US in
the Q4 2006. Overall PND shipments for the year hit 2.9 mln units, up 269% on 2005. Garmin was market leader in 2006 with 50% share, ahead of Magellan and TomTom. The US represented 23% of the global market in the quarter, up from just 15% a year earlier.
