Nigerian telecommunications investment is estimated at $8 bln and is expected to reach $12 bln by the end of 2007. Number of fixed and mobile line subscribers in Africa is about 100 mln combined. About 68% of the lines, as at December 2004 were mobile lines. In the next 5 years, 2005-2009, African subscribers’ base will climb to 140 mln, Research and Markets reported.
