Newspaper advertising expenditures for Q3 2004 totaled $11.3 bln, a 3.8% increase YTY, according to Newspaper Association of America. Classified advertising led the way with a 4.3% spending increase to $4.0 bln. National ad spending increased 3.9% to $2.0 bln and retail spending rose 3.5% to $5.3 bln.
