More than 10 million homes in the US already have wireless networks, according to ABI Research. In addition, there are currently more than 3,500 free wireless hotspots in the US (according to jiwire.com, as of March 2005) at restaurants, malls, airports, parks and other commercial businesses in most major, and many smaller, communities.
