Nielsen/NetRatings conducted a user survey, where the respondents were asked to identify the most important properties of a search engine. 51.8% said relevancy of the results was the most important factor. 34.2% wanted credible results, 33% valued speed. 18.6% said a friendly interface was important, 17.5% said search engine page had to be well-designed. The same amount (17.5%) said the search engine should be well-known.
