InsightExpress surveyed 500 people in the US in the market for a new PC and found that most (65%) think that the look and feel of the machine is important to consider when making their decision. In fact, 26% think that the brand of a PC is the most important attribute to consider when shopping for a home PC. A smaller 17% consider price and only 10% consider hard drive size. 19% consider additional offers to be important, while 17% look at multimedia drives such as CD/RW, DVD/RW, etc. As for the particular brands consumers? prefer, InsightExpress found that 31% say Hewlett-Packard (HP) is their favorite PC brand, followed by 24% who cited Gateway and 19% who noted Dell. Apple ranked 4th with 15%.
