User reach for search engines in December: Google – 44.9%, Yahoo! – 32%

According to Nielsen//NetRatings report on top 15 search destinations in December 2004, top search engines – Google and Yahoo! – hd a total reach of 76.9% of Internet users. The numbers do not add up to 100%, since many of Web surfers turn to different search engines. Also worth noting that more people searched on Microsoft.com (Microsoft’s corporate site, not the MSN search engine) than AltaVista.
