UK online shoppers will spend $6.44 bln this Christmas

Internet shopping will grow five-fold to make up one third of British consumer spending by 2010. Interactive Media In Retail Group estimates 3.5 bln pounds ($6.44 bln) will pass through the Web this Christmas. The number of non-financial businesses buying goods and services online more than doubled to 29% in 2003 from 13% in 2002, the Office for National Statistics said.
