Only 4% would order the merchandise at the store if it was unavailable
Consumers who shop online and in stores or by catalog plan to spend nearly 30% more than those who choose only one way of making purchases this holiday season, AMR Research reported. Those who order online and pick-up in the store, on average, will purchase 58% more once in the store. 70% would go to a competitor or online if a store was out of a product they wanted. Only 4% of shoppers who couldn’t find an item on the shelf said they would order the merchandise at the store.
