Mobile phone sales up 30% in 2004

Mobile phone sales grew 30% in 2004 compared to 2003 to reach an all-time high of 674 mln devices sold, according to Gartner. The market exceeded expectations and was buoyed by a 24% increase in shipments during the fourth Q compared to the same period in 2003. Nokia maintained a 30% share for the full year, followed by Motorola at 15% and Samsung at 12%.
