DigiTimes: Dislay market to hit US$90 billion by 2007

The electronic display market reached US$50 billion in 2002, and is forecast to exceed US$90 billion by 2007, according to iSuppli/Stanford Resources. For desktop PC monitors, AMLCDs are rapidly displacing CRTs, creating strong unit growth, such as a 100% increase in 2001 and 2002, and more than 50% rises expected in 2003 and 2004. Finally, CRTs still represented 40% of the electronic display market in 2002, and manufacturers continue to improve the video performance and reduce the physical size of CRTs.
