Back-to-school spending on electronics to fall to $2.06 bln in 2005 vs $3.09 bln in 2004

National Retail Foundation expects spending in the electronics category to decrease in 2005. Families with school-aged children will spend an average of $443.77 on back-to-school items, down 8.2% from $483.28 in 2004. Back-to-school spending is estimated to reach $13.39 bln in 2005, down from $14.79 bln in 2004. Spending on electronic will fall to $2.06 bln versus $3.09 bln in 2004.
