90% of IT directors consider Linux switch too costly

About 90% of the 300 large companies with 10,000 or more users surveyed said a significant or total switch from Windows to Linux would be prohibitively expensive, extremely complex and time consuming. The Boston-based consulting and research company also says a switch to Linux, which can be copied and modified freely, would not provide any tangible business gains for those big companies. The survey polled 1,000 technology administrators and executives worldwide.
