30 mln fiber Internet subscribers globally in 2006
By the end of 2006, the world’s FTTx total reached 30 mln subscribers with a steady growth of 11.4% per quarter. South East Asia contributes the lion share (47.5%) to the world’s FTTx total. China alone had over 13.8 mln subscribers, primarily served via FTTx+LAN in Q4 2006. The Asia-Pacific region comes second with a market share of 38.9% of the world’s FTTx total, Point Topic says.
