18% of companies archive instant messaging traffic, 48% archive e-mails
48% of companies indicated they have an email archiving solution in place, which is up significantly from 25% last year. Not all customers are happy with their email archiving solution, however. The top complaint of archiving solutions is that they are too time consuming to manage. While IM use is on the rise, only 18% of companies surveyed are archiving their IM traffic. Another 5% are evaluating whether or not to deploy an IM archiving solution, Radicati Group says.
