$18 bln of semiconductors sold in July 2005

Worldwide semiconductor sales in July 2005 were worth $18 bln, down 0.3% from June 2005 and flat on YTY basis, according to World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS). Asia Pacific and Japan were the only regions to show growth during the month, 1.7% for the former to $8.3 bln, and 0.7% in Japan, to $3.6 bln. Sales in the Americas fell by 1.3% to $3.1 bln with Europe again bringing up the rear, having seen a 2% decline to $ 3 bln.
